Gold: Containing no oxides, pure gold is the only precious metal that will not tarnish. Having said this, it is a relatively soft metal and care should always be taken with your gold jewellery. Gold should be cleaned regularly in order to maintain its beauty and patina. A soft, lint-free cloth or even better a gold polishing cloth is an effective way to keep gold jewellery looking its best.
Silver: Silver does tarnish. When worn daily you usually don’t see tarnish but if you let your jewellery sit it is very common. Silver reacts to moisture and will tarnish but is easily cleaned with baking soda.
Diamonds: Clean your diamonds with warm soapy liquid and a soft toothbrush, rinsing the stone and setting afterwards to ensure no soapy residue
Gemstones: When cleaning jewellery with gems you need to look at what type of gem your cleaning.and most transparent gems can be cleaned with dish soap, warm water and a toothbrush. Store your gemstones in separate jewellery bags to prevent future dirt build-up and damage.
